The story goes that in Colonial Charleston, when a sailor would return from a voyage, he’d place a pineapple near the entrance of his home to mark a successful trip and to signal, “Visitors welcome!” This tradition has established the pineapple as a symbol of hospitality in the South.
WELCOME.
